50T steel spur built for XO-1 speed

A Module 1.0, 50-tooth straight-cut steel spur produced for use with the TRAXXAS XO-1 chassis, supplied as one piece. The component is hardened, finished in black and laser-etched with the tooth count for quick identification when changing gears trackside.

Designed to replace the OEM large spur, it establishes the main drive ratio and provides reliable meshing for on-road high-speed runs. Correct M1.0 pinion selection is required for proper engagement. During installation set minimal, even backlash and confirm the gearbox bearings adequately support the spur to prevent uneven wear.

This part is an RC replacement for the XO-1 model platform and is not intended for real-world vehicle use.

Is extra lubrication required for steel spurs?

Basic gear grease on bearings and shafts is fine; avoid over-greasing the mesh area because excess lubricant can attract debris and affect mesh consistency.

Will this change my gear ratio noticeably?

This is a 50-tooth spur; the effective ratio change depends on your chosen pinion. Use the same tooth counts as the stock setup for identical ratios, or alter the pinion for a different final drive.

Should I inspect the spur after initial runs?

Yes. After a short low-speed run, check the teeth for even wear and confirm backlash remains correct to avoid accelerated damage.

Does the laser mark affect performance?
