This 1:32 Trumpeter kit recreates the F6F-3 Hellcat, an aircraft that became central to allied carrier operations after its first flight in October 1942. The model emphasises the Hellcats durable construction and combat role.
The Grumman F6F-3 was driven by a Pratt & Whitney R2800-10 engine producing about 2000 horsepower, enabling top speeds around 611 km/h and ceiling capability near 11,368 meters. Production topped 4,400 units by April 1944, and many were issued to British Fleet Air Arm squadrons.
Builders get to model six .50 cal machine guns and decide between folded or extended wing configurations. The kit contains 364 plastic pieces plus photo-etched components and a clear engine cover to showcase internal detail when desired.
