The 15 cm s.F.H.18 Howitzer is a primary descendent of the s.F.H.13 of World War I classic. The same split path carriage ended up being found in combination with a 105 mm barrel to make the 10 cm s.K 18 Heavy Gun. Those two cannons were the main medium artillery pieces found in German artillery battalions, each battalion being comprised of 12 cannons.
