The Trumpeter 1/35 Flak 43 model gives modellers a compact but detailed representation of this wartime anti-aircraft gun. The original Rheinmetall design used a gas-operated breech to cut production time and improve function. Its enhancements led to a raised rate of fire and quicker traversal and elevation compared with the older Flak 18, 36, and 37 designs.
Scale fidelity is clear in the mouldings and part layout. The assembled gun measures 110 mm long and 70.8 mm wide, fitting well into most 1/35 armour scenes. With 139 plastic parts arranged on five sprues, the kit offers a satisfying build for those who enjoy precise assembly and finishing.
There are no metal or resin extras, however the included photo-etched part raises the level of detail in key areas. The lack of decals encourages model makers to pick their own markings or create custom weathering to match reference photos.
