This 1/35 scale plastic model kit reproduces the German 21 cm Morser 18 heavy howitzer and is intended as a high-detail assembly project for display and reference modelling.

Real-world background: Designed to replace the older 21 cm M16 family, the 21 cm Morser 18 used a dual-recoil carriage to reduce peak forces at emplacement. The design combines conventional barrel recoil in its cradle with a secondary recoil of the upper carriage across the main carriage, creating a steadier firing platform. Given its size, the system was transported in multiple loads and required an integral firing platform plus spade supports for emplacement and limited traverse.

Model description: The kit recreates the sizable carriage and separate barrel trailer layout typical of the subject. Injection-moulded plastic parts capture carriage details, spade and platform elements, and wheel assemblies. A single photo-etched part is included for finer detailing. Careful assembly of small parts and subassemblies is necessary to achieve a neat finished presentation ideal for display.

Build notes and display guidance: Planning subassemblies will assist with painting and handling during construction. Test-fitting carriage-to-platform interfaces and the barrel mount before final bonding will preserve alignment.
