The Trumpeter Mitsubishi A6M2b Model 21 Zero Fighter in 1:24 scale is a substantial plastic assembly kit designed for precise static display and scale modelling. It targets modellers who want clear external detail and an accurate representation of the early Type 21 configuration.
The real Mitsubishi A6M2b Type 21 was an early operational version of the A6M Zero produced before mid-1942. Introduced after initial trials in 1940, the Type 21 featured naval adaptations including folding wingtips and an arrestor hook, and it entered combat operations in China in August 1940. The A6M2b featured prominently in initial Pacific campaigns until later variants took over and many aircraft were reassigned.
The kit reproduces the Type 21 external layout and service markings with parts arranged across multiple sprues. It includes separate aileron and flap linkages with metal shafts, photo-etched hinge pieces, and rubber tyres. Decals offer markings for an Akagi unit from the Pearl Harbor engagement. Represented engine detail and sprung landing gear are provided, and instrument panel film parts are included to enhance cockpit facings.
An accurate large-scale kit of the early A6M2b Type 21, well suited to experienced modellers and collectors focused on static presentation and detailed external fidelity.
