The Savoia-Marchetti S.M.79 Sparviero is an important wartime design that began life as a converted airliner and went on to serve in many theatres during World War II. It is most recognisable for its three-engine form, though variants with twin engines using types such as the Junkers Jumo 211D were also produced, and it saw service with nations including Brazil, Iraq and Romania.
Trumpeters 1:48 kit captures the aircrafts historical role from Spanish operations to North African campaigns and gives modellers a substantial build to display. The model measures 337.5mm long with a wingspan of 442mm and includes 195 plastic parts arranged on six sprues for a rewarding construction process.
