The Trumpeter 1/35 representation of the German NBFZ (Type I) showcases an early phase of German tank experimentation. Launched from the Neubaufahrzeug programme in 1933, the vehicle was publicly described as a "Grobtraktor" to comply with postwar treaty limits. This kit captures the era's multi-turret thinking seen in Rheinmetall and Krupp proposals.
Neubaufahrzeug, or "new construction vehicle", was a development project aimed at heavier armour and armament despite international constraints. The model accurately references the main 75 mm KwK L/24 and the 37 mm KwK L/45 secondary guns typical of the design.
Designed for those experienced in complex kits, the Trumpeter set contains over 1170 parts, including photo-etched detail and a metal gun barrel to boost authenticity. The multi-slide molded elements help achieve precise fits across the hull and turret assemblies.
