The USS The Sullivans (DD-537) recalls the story of the five Sullivan brothers lost aboard the cruiser Juneau in World War II. Trumpeter's 1:700 rendition brings that ship to the workbench with respect for its history and clear modelling intent.
Following its April 4, 1943 launch and commissioning later that year, The Sullivans took part in Pacific operations including plane guard tasks, shore bombardment runs and anti-Kamikaze duty near Okinawa. The vessel earned nine battle stars in World War II and two more during the Korean War.
The kit supports either a waterline or a full hull layout. It features 121 plastic parts on seven sprues plus detailed hull pieces, providing a focused build that produces a well-proportioned model suitable for cabinets or dioramas.
