The USS New Orleans CA-32 is one of the New Orleans-class heavy cruisers that saw extensive service in World War II. Created between the world wars as a Treaty cruiser design, these ships displaced between 10,136 and 12,436 tons in wartime configuration and were equipped with contemporary radar and anti-aircraft installations.
This class was celebrated for resilience in combat and operational effectiveness, with the surviving ships after 1942 engaged in many fleet actions and earning a total of 63 Battle Stars. The kit reproduces the ship's 1942 appearance, including MS21 camouflage markings.
With nine sprues to assemble, this kit provides a rewarding build that supports either waterline or full hull display. Attention to rigging and painting will improve realism, making the finished model a strong addition to a World War II surface fleet collection.
