The KV-1 M1942 is remembered for exceptionally strong armour and its role in mid-war Soviet tank development. Trumpeter's 07233 reproduces the vehicle in compact 1:72 scale so modellers can capture its stoic appearance without a large footprint.
The heavy armour of the KV-1 family pushed weight toward 47 tons, while the unchanged engine limited mobility to about 28 km/h. The lightweight cast turret variant was fitted to address production and weight concerns and is identified by the distinctive large cast ring around the rear machine gun opening.
Featuring 94 plastic parts and seven sprues, this kit provides good surface detail and straightforward subassemblies. The compact finished model suits shelves and small diorama bases and complements other WWII armour in 1:72 scale.
