The Trumpeter 1:72 Sd.kfz.9/1 kit portrays a significant German recovery vehicle from World War II. Originating from FAMO designs in 1936 and put into production by 1939, the Sd.kfz.9 series served recovery roles and this variant includes a 6-ton crane mounted on the Sd.kfz.9 18t "FAMO" chassis. Historical sources list the Maybach HL108TUKRM 250 hp engine for context.
The assembled model measures 141.3 mm long, 38.1 mm wide and 58 mm high, faithfully reducing the real vehicle to 1:72 scale. The kit comprises 332 plastic parts across detailed sprues, delivering a substantial build with realistic components.
When displayed the Sd.kfz.9/1 stands out for its full-length tracks and three tyre arrangement, and the included German Army decals help achieve period-correct finishes. It is well suited to dioramas or as a centrepiece in a WWII collection.
