This aluminium rear hub is offered as a replacement for the TAMIYA Thunder Shot, Thunder Dragon, Fire Dragon and Terra Scorcher buggies. The gun metal machined finish gives a metal alternative to the stock hub, intended to stabilise rear geometry during hobby and competitive running.
Design purpose: acting as the wheel carrier at the rear axle, the hub maintains wheel hex engagement and axle alignment. Compared to plastic, the aluminium hub provides a firmer mounting surface which can reduce unwanted movement under load.
How to fit: designed for direct swap into the original rear hub location using the factory hub screws and wheel hex arrangement. Confirm fit and clearances before tightening, make sure the wheel hex seats fully, and use thread locker on screws if you want a more permanent installation.
Tuning advice: model builders often fit aluminium hubs to lower flex at the wheel mount and to obtain more consistent alignment when adjusting toe, camber or rear track. The net handling changes depend on suspension tune, tyre selection and drivetrain wear.
