Asphalt-Tuned XLP2 Shock Upgrade

Owners of the XRAY X4 2025 looking for cleaner corner entry should consider the XRAY 308129 XLP2 Aluminum Progressive Shock System Set (2). The kit changes the damping profile to give a softer initial stroke that firms up as the piston rises, assisting traction and steering precision.

Insert-Based Dampening Explained

The XLP2 relies on an insert with three triangular cuts paired with holeless pistons. This arrangement moves dampening control to the insert, producing a progressive shift from compliant to firm as the piston travels, which improves feel on sealed surfaces.

Durable CNC Machined Components

Inserts are made from Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium and are CNC machined with a black finish for protection. Piston components use high-grade composites and are molded and ground to maintain roundness and stiffness for predictable performance.

Setup Guidance and Surface Notes

For correct operation, use these inserts only with pistons that do not have holes and fit them across both axles. The system is developed for asphalt and is compatible with regular shock oils.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some XRAY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Wet or damp conditions affect grip; the XLP2 is optimised for dry asphalt, so setup adjustments will be needed for slippery surfaces.
No special tools are required beyond standard shock service tools, though careful assembly and bleed of air is recommended for consistent damping.
You must use pistons without holes to allow the insert to control progression; if your current pistons have ports you will need replacements.
Tyre compound and tread pattern influence traction and may change how much benefit you see from progressive dampening, so tune both together.
