YOKY4S8 cap ball upgrade for YD-4 dampers

The Yokomo YOKY4S8 shock cap ball set supplies direct-replacement cap balls intended for SLF big-bore dampers on the YD-4 platform. Packaged as a 4pcs set, these parts form the cap ball interface inside the shock cap and help keep piston alignment consistent for predictable shock performance.

This product is an RC-scale replacement item and must not be used on full-size vehicles. Always confirm YD-4 compatibility to ensure the cap balls fit your damper top assembly correctly.

Installation notes: the process is simple for anyone used to servicing oil-filled shocks. Remove the cap, inspect the old cap ball for wear, and install the new one ensuring it rotates and seats correctly. Use standard shock service tools and protect damper oil and seals from contamination.

Tuning role: while small, the cap ball affects seal seating and piston movement inside SLF big-bore shocks. Fresh cap balls help preserve consistent damping, minimise play at the cap, and aid repeatable changes when you adjust oil, pistons, or spring preload.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Replacing worn cap balls can tighten up cap-end play and result in a more consistent shock feel, but they do not alter internal valving characteristics.
Yes, these cap balls are compatible with SLF big-bore setups; changing pistons or oil will further tune damping independently of the cap ball condition.
If you carry spares and basic shock tools, swapping cap balls is a rapid service task and can be done trackside during a break between runs.
