Where is the ideal placement for the weight?

Position it between the motor mount and battery tray, then test on track. Small forward or rearward shifts can change front grip and rotation.

Does the weight interfere with electronics or wiring?

When mounted carefully it should not. Keep wiring clear of the pad and secure the weight so it cannot move into ESC or battery leads.

Is brass preferred over other materials for balance weights?

Brass offers compact mass for its size, making it useful where space is tight. It is denser than aluminium so you can add more weight in a smaller area.
