B9-S116A piston from Yokomo for sharper BD9 shock control

The Yokomo B9-S116A piston was developed alongside AXON for BD9 high big bore short shocks. The six-hole arrangement increases vibration absorption and traction. A larger outer diameter helps control body roll and reduces rear instability at higher cornering speeds.

Tuning tips and comparative notes

Relative to the original 4-hole BD9 pistons, the B9-S116A uses larger hole diameters to deliver a livelier response. Install with your standard shock oil first, then test heavier weights between #50 and #100 to dial in the setup for track surface and handling goals.

The increased damping control smooths compression and rebound through landings, helping the car settle quicker and reducing unsettled rear bounce when tuned correctly.
You may not need a spring change immediately, but if you move to much heavier oilation you might want stiffer springs to maintain ride height and reduce excessive dive or roll.
Maintenance is the same as a standard piston: clean piston ports, check for wear, replace damaged O-rings, and ensure shocks are free of air after refilling with oil.
