High-performance HVF shaft for BD9 damping

The Yokomo B9-S5SHVFA HVF shock shaft is produced at 19.1mm and features a heavy fluorine coating to minimize surface friction and improve longevity. Designed with input from AXON, the shaft reduces bearing and seal drag to promote cleaner damper movement on BD9 chassis platforms.

When tuning, the reduced stick-slip behaviour at the sliding interface helps the shock register subtle inputs consistently, which supports better traction and more predictable handling through setup changes. Internal testing highlighted noticeable wear improvements over older finishes.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Expect a cleaner, less stiction-prone motion. Because friction drops, small damping adjustments may feel more apparent; you might need to tweak oil weight or piston choice to regain the exact balance you prefer.
The package supplies four HFV-coated shafts—one for each damper in a standard BD9 set.
No special maintenance is required; routine inspection and keeping seals and oil clean will help preserve the heavy fluorine surface and its low-friction behavior.
Compatibility is documented as BD9 and specific part numbers MRTC-BD919 and MRTC-BD919S. Confirm your shock internals match the 19.1mm shaft length if you run custom rebuilds.
