The RD-630BK is a lightweight spur gear hub developed for Yokomo RD, SD and MD drift chassis. By increasing diameter it raises the spur contact area, aiding rotation stability and decreasing vibration during steady driving and steering corrections.
The hub's nearer positioning of the spur gear to the gear case can lessen load on the top shaft under abrupt acceleration, yielding a more immediate drive response. Note that replacement of previous series-standard hubs such as Y4-630A, Y2-630PA, or Y2-630RA will reveal a different set-screw fixing location.
For those chassis that need the alternate fixing position, Yokomo recommends the RD-631 top shaft to ensure correct alignment of the set-screw and safe installation. The RD-630BK is intended as a tuning upgrade to improve spur engagement and drivetrain feedback, not to change gear ratios.
Installed as a drop-in hop-up on supported Yokomo drift chassis, the RD-630BK targets improved spur hold and lower vibration; use the RD-631 top shaft when replacing earlier hubs with a different set-screw location.
