Key Characteristics

The Yokomo YOKYS1000 Super Blend Shock Oil #1000 is formulated as a silicone shock fluid for fine suspension adjustment on 1/10 scale models. It is suitable for calibrated oil-filled shocks where more controlled compression and rebound improve handling on both on-road and off-road layouts.

Changing to a thicker oil increases resistance to piston movement, affecting both mid-speed and high-speed damping. This product is useful when you need higher damping levels without altering pistons or springs inside the shock body.

  • Compatibility: Works with the majority of oil-filled shocks on 1/10 scale electric and nitro touring cars, buggies, and short course vehicles.
  • Installation: Drain and clean the shock, refill to the correct volume, then pump to remove bubbles before sealing and track testing.
  • Tuning tips: Coordinate viscosity changes with piston and spring adjustments, make incremental swaps, and test in consistent temperature conditions for repeatable results.
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
A higher viscosity like 1000cSt increases resistance for both compression and rebound, typically slowing rebound noticeably and helping to control weight transfer during direction changes.
Thicker oil can often replace the need for more restrictive pistons, but pairing the oil with appropriate spring rates and piston holes yields the best balance; test combinations incrementally.
Fill slowly to the correct level, then extend and compress the shock repeatedly while keeping the rod straight; top up any lost oil and repeat until bubbles cease before final assembly.
