The Yokomo Y2-002SMGA graphite high traction main chassis is engineered to lift the handling characteristics of the YD-2SXIII. It preserves the mounting pattern for E series gearboxes and rear motor conversions while offering a refined layout for track-specific tuning.

Trimmed 2.5mm Graphite for Reduced Mass

Using the standard 2.5mm graphite common to the YD-2 range, this plate is selectively slimmed in non critical areas to drop weight yet keep necessary stiffness. That makes it well suited to low mu arenas such as P-tiles and coloured concrete.

Rear Slit Features for Improved Slide Control

The rear section is slit-processed to maximise surface engagement at the back axle, improving traction and giving steadier drift performance through tighter corners.

Do I keep my current gearbox when fitting this chassis?

Yes. The chassis is designed to keep the screw hole positions for E series gearboxes and typical rear motor conversions, so most existing gearboxes remain usable.

How does the slit processing change handling?

Slits in the rear plate help the chassis flex more predictably at the back, increasing tyre contact and improving rear traction which results in smoother, more controllable drifts.

Any adjustments after swapping the chassis?

After fitting, check rear toe and damping settings first. Small changes to rear toe-in and shock tune will help you make the most of the enhanced traction.
