Fit a lighter diff with the Yokomo Y2-500GS-A

The Yokomo Y2-500GS-A Plastic Gear Differential Assembly is aimed at drivers who want improved agility from a 2WD drift car. Designed for YD-2 and YZ-2 chassis, it offers a lower rotating mass and finer control when changing lines.

Light resin gears for quicker throttle reaction

Internal components in the Y2-500GS-A are moulded from a lightweight resin that reduces drive inertia. That leads to faster throttle response and easier steering corrections when drifting.

Pre-built assembly and supplied silicone oil

To save time at the bench, Yokomo ships the differential main body pre-assembled, and it comes with silicone oil so you can install and tune the diff straight away.

Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.

Will this work with upgraded drivetrains?

The diff is made for YD-2 and YZ-2 setups. Many upgraded parts will still work, but confirm spline and housing fitment before pairing with non-standard drivetrains.

Can I use different oil viscosities?

Yes, adjusting silicone oil weight is the primary way to tune the diff. Try lighter grades for looser slides or heavier grades for more grip under power.

How should I clean the diff after running?

Wipe exterior grime away, avoid soaking the housing in solvents, and inspect gear teeth for wear. Refill with the chosen silicone oil and recheck operation.
