Improve YD-2 Shock Feel with the Yokomo Y2-S126TA SLF

For drivers refining drift cars, the Yokomo Y2-S126TA SLF tapered piston fits YD-2 series SLF big bore shocks and was shaped with TeamYOKOMO DRIFT input. Its tapered profile changes shock characteristics when reversed.

Direction-Based Shock Behaviour Adjustments

The taper gives a straightforward way to alter handling: install tapered-end down to soften rebound, or flip it to relax compression. This makes quick set changes between practice runs easy.

Fluid-Focused Piston Hole Design

The diagonal slope in the piston holes helps manage oil flow under sudden inputs, smoothing everyday movement while keeping damping force when needed to control instability during slides.

Six 1.2mm Holes for Stable Oil Film

Engineered with six 1.2mm holes, the piston favours a gentler damping curve while preserving the oil film around the O-ring. A mid-weight option like #300 oil is commonly used to prevent oil loss and cavitation.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
This piston is aimed at drift use and gives tunable damping for competitive driving, though final setup depends on driver preference and other suspension parts.
The six-hole layout provides a softer shock response, which can pair well with slightly stiffer springs to retain body control while keeping smooth transitions.
Check seals and oil regularly and rebuild shocks after heavy use or if damping becomes inconsistent. Regular maintenance preserves performance and prevents damage.
