29T 64-Pitch Pinion Overview

The Yokomo YOKPG6429 is supplied as a 64 pitch, 29-tooth pinion intended for use in R/C gearing setups. It is compatible with 64 pitch gear trains and serves as a simple replacement or tuning item when modifying gear ratios on electric R/C vehicles.

To install, match the pinion bore to the motor shaft and use the motor's existing fastening method, whether a set screw or clamp-style mount; confirm shaft fit prior to final tightening. Check the mesh with the spur gear and alter motor position or add shims until engagement is uniform and free from binding.

Changing to this 29T pinion will adjust the drivetrain ratio relative to other tooth counts and will affect acceleration and top speed characteristics. Approach ratio changes in small steps and test after each swap to dial in ideal performance.

Routine maintenance after fitting includes rechecking that the pinion remains secure, verifying mesh after a few runs, and examining teeth for premature wear. Replacing a worn pinion is a normal part of ongoing R/C upkeep.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Performance depends on correct installation and mesh. If fitted and aligned properly, the pinion will function as expected; inspect it periodically for wear.
After tightening the retention method, run the drivetrain briefly and then recheck the fastener and mesh. Any loosening should be addressed before further use.
Replace the pinion if you notice chipped or uneven teeth or persistent mesh problems. Regular inspection after initial installation helps spot wear early.
