26-Tooth Hardened Steel Pinion

This 26-tooth pinion is offered as a precise replacement part for R/C motor drivetrains and is intended only for scale model use. Swapping pinion tooth counts lets you change the final drive ratio, tune acceleration versus top-end speed, and better match motor characteristics with your spur gear.

Confirm shaft diameter and gear pitch compatibility prior to fitting. Achieve correct mesh by setting the teeth to engage without binding, tighten the set screw, and then verify smooth operation while rotating the drivetrain. A small clearance at rest that closes under throttle often yields better results than an overly tight mesh.

For routine care, inspect the teeth for wear or chips and replace the pinion if defects are detected. Use a minimal amount of gear-specific lubricant only when compatible with the spur material, and keep the gear area clear of dirt and grit.

A 26T choice typically provides a middle-ground tuning option; pair it with your spur gear to tweak performance while keeping an eye on motor temperature and ESC load during testing.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Moving to a 26T pinion changes the final drive ratio to give a compromise between acceleration and top speed; test with your current spur selection and monitor motor temperature and ESC load to evaluate the outcome.
Clean the shaft, slide the pinion into place, set mesh with the spur while keeping a small clearance, tighten the set screw, and spin the drivetrain to check for smooth engagement before a test run.
