On-Road 13.5T Brushless Unit for RC Tuning

The Yokomo YOKYMRP135M is a Racing Performance M Series motor specified at 13.5 turns for RC car applications. It aims to deliver steady torque and a predictable throttle curve, which helps when adjusting suspension and gearing for balance.

Compatibility considerations: designed to fit standard brushless motor mounts in typical RC motor bays and to pair with common hobby brushless ESCs. Double-check pinion offset and bolt pattern to ensure correct mesh and clearance.

Installation notes: match the motor plate spacing to your chassis, secure the motor using the manufacturer recommended screws, and confirm rotation direction via your ESC before finalising gear mesh and wiring. When using a 13.5T motor, select a pinion and spur ratio that preserves usable acceleration while avoiding excessive current draw.

Tuning role: a 13.5T motor is often chosen to tame top speed and enhance drivability on twisty tracks. Slight timing and gearing adjustments can change throttle feel; monitor temperatures and adjust as needed during setup sessions.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
A 13.5T usually reduces peak RPM, which can improve traction on corner exit and make throttle application more manageable compared to lower-turn motors.
If your ESC allows timing changes, small increases can sharpen throttle response and top speed, but always monitor motor and ESC temperatures after any change.
Start conservatively with a smaller pinion and evaluate acceleration and temperature. Incrementally increase pinion size until you reach the desired top speed without overheating the ESC.
Minor timing tweaks can alter throttle curve and top end, but they are not a substitute for gross gearing changes when you need a significant shift in acceleration or top speed.
Run a few controlled laps to check temperatures, acceleration, and handling. Make one change at a time to isolate the effect and record results to guide further tuning.
