Overview of the pitch diaphragm for YRX 12

This Yokomo YOKYX40O silicone diaphragm is manufactured as a replacement membrane for the YRX 12 pitching damper system. It manages the internal air and oil flow of the pitching damper, which influences initial pitch damping and transient reactions when accelerating or braking on 1/10 on-road cars.

Silicone material offers reliable elasticity compared to aged stock diaphragms, helping to keep pitch response consistent without altering shock oil or spring rates. The part is an aftermarket accessory intended solely for radio-controlled chassis and damper assemblies, not for real automobiles.

Installation is straightforward for those experienced with damper maintenance: remove the end cap, replace the old diaphragm with the new piece making sure it sits flat, then reassemble and check for a proper seal. Avoid particles or sharp tooling that could nick the diaphragm during fitment.

As a tuning measure, diaphragm swaps are subtle but effective. A newer or stiffer diaphragm tends to limit nose dive and stabilise transient movement, while softer diaphragms increase initial compliance. Combine diaphragm choices with oil and spring changes to fine tune handling traits.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
This part is sized for the YRX 12 pitching damper. Some dampers from other series may not match the seating geometry, so check dimensions and mounting style before attempting installation.
Expect crisper initial pitch control with a firmer diaphragm, reducing dive under braking. The effect is subtle and works best when balanced with correct oil weight and spring choice.
Clean mating surfaces, avoid overstretching or folding the diaphragm, seat it centrally, and tighten the end cap evenly. Run the damper through a few strokes and inspect for any seepage before track use.
