Application Method and Best Practices

This tape comes with adhesive on one face so you can cut it to the required size and stick it inside the body shell. For a firmer, longer lasting repair, spread a reinforcing adhesive such as Shoe Goo over the mesh so it hardens and locks the fabric to the shell.

Practical Repair and Protection Uses

Perfect for drivers who frequently bash or race, the tape reduces damage from impacts and abrasion. It is also well suited to mending small cracks or reinforcing thin panels to delay a full body replacement.

Can I use contact cement instead of Shoe Goo?

Contact cement will stick the tape down, but Shoe Goo or similar gap filling adhesives create a harder, more durable reinforcing layer over the mesh.

Will the mesh show through a painted shell?

If applied to the inside of the shell and covered with a thin layer of reinforcing glue, the mesh is typically not visible from the outside once painted and trimmed correctly.

Is the roll enough for multiple repairs?

A 2000mm roll affords many repair patches. How many repairs you can do depends on patch size and how much of the roll you use per repair.
