2.0mm duralumin lower brace for YR-X12

This aluminium lower brace is an RC tuning item intended for the YR-X12 1/12 competition chassis. Fabricated from the supplied 2.0mm 70-75 duralumin plate, the brace stiffens the lower section of the chassis and drops the centre of gravity to improve handling stability.

The thin plate profile keeps compatibility with narrow-diameter tyres used on indoor carpet tracks, while the increased traction tendency helps cut high-sides during aggressive cornering on carpet. On high-grip circuits the brace reduces twitchy steering behaviour, making the car more predictable through fast sweeps without complex tuning steps.

Installation is a simple chassis swap that changes the front-to-rear flex balance; perform standard checks and re-torque fasteners after initial runs. Use this plate when the car needs firmer lower support or a lower centre of gravity for smoother corner exits.

  • Supported chassis: YR-X1219
  • Supported chassis: YR-X12
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
By increasing lower-chassis rigidity and lowering the centre of gravity, the plate stabilises the chassis and reduces sudden oversteer on high-traction sections.
You may need minor adjustments to roll center or dampers to re-establish the preferred front-to-rear balance, but major setup changes are rarely necessary.
