Performance and Fit

A compact, RC-scale precision pinion designed specifically for 48 pitch gear trains. The YOKPG4829 offers stable tooth form and hardened material to keep mesh stable under typical electric model stresses.

Application: mount the pinion on the motor shaft to modify gear ratio, tune acceleration versus top speed, and optimise mesh when refining drivetrain efficiency. It acts as a direct replacement for worn or softer pinions.

Fitting tips: install on a clean, deburred motor shaft, locate the set screw on a shaft flat when possible, and use proper shimming to set desired backlash. Perform a few low-throttle cycles to confirm engagement before locking hardware. Light running-in can help seat the gear.

Tuning notes: the ultra-hard surface reduces wear compared to softer gears but requires precise spur alignment to avoid tooth damage. If you increase or decrease tooth count, always re-check mesh and motor timing where relevant.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Dropping or increasing teeth alters the overall gear ratio; a 29T will change acceleration and top speed depending on your spur size. Validate performance changes with controlled tests.
Yes. The ultra-hard construction holds up well to repeated fitting and removal, but careful handling and correct mesh are needed to avoid wear from misalignment.
After changing tooth counts, re-check backlash, ensure even tooth contact, and run the drivetrain at low throttle to confirm smooth engagement before full-power testing.
