Servo mount plate for tuning steering response

The graphite servo mount plate is designed for use on YZ-4S and compatible B-YZ4SF chassis. It provides a precise, low-mass mounting point that helps keep the servo stable relative to the chassis centreline and steering linkages for predictable responses on track.

Installation requirement: the plate must be used with the inner and outer posts referenced by the maker, specifically inner post (S4-203A?1, 900) and outer post (S4-203AO?900). These posts are separate items and are needed to secure the plate and the servo assembly.

Quick setup tips: check that servo splines are centred before final clamping, select screws which clear the servo case, and tighten evenly to avoid crushing the graphite. Verify plate orientation and linkage travel after installation. Note that the part affects steering geometry and servo placement rather than motor or drivetrain characteristics.

Tuning notes: small changes to servo position or mount stiffness can shift steering centre and transient behaviour. Combine plate changes with adjustments to toe, steering rate, and servo throw to achieve the desired handling balance.

Compatibility

  • YZ-4S
  • B-YZ4SF
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Shifting the servo fore or aft or changing mount stiffness alters leverage and inertia seen by the steering linkages, which can speed up or slow down transient reactions. Test in small steps and log changes.
Yes. A stiffer, well-located mount reduces unwanted movement under load, improving centring behaviour. Combine with servo endpoints and dual-rate settings for best results.
Most standard 1/10 servos will fit, but confirm your servo case dimensions and screw hole pattern before final fitment. The plate requires the separate posts to fasten correctly.
